Cynthia Ball – Director of People Operations

What is the most exciting thing about working in this business?

There is no better feeling than being able to drive by a building or site and say to the person next to you “I work for the company who built this, or I helped build this, renovated it, etc…” Commercial construction plays a vital part in shaping the communities we live in.  The construction industry has been a part of communities for thousands of years and will continue to be far into our future.  Though the mode of construction will change, we will always be building something.   Did you know at 455 feet tall; the Great Pyramid in Egypt was the tallest building in the world from the time of its completion around 2560 BC to 1311 AD., and while we have taller buildings now, no building has held the title of the tallest building for as long as the Great Pyramid once did.

What is your philosophy about giving back to the community?

I think Mahatma Gandhi sums it up perfectly for me.  “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”    Giving back is one of the most important things we can do to invest in our communities growth and our own personal growth as well.

Name a technology innovation that has made an impact in construction or an area where there are opportunities for innovation

Intelligent Structural Monitoring – is an important tool that with continued development will help assess building projects throughout the build cycle and after completion by building safer, building better for the longevity of our neighborhoods.

Tell us an awesome fact about yourself or the role you have in the company.

People Operations is my arena here at The Crowther Group.  I am excited to be apart of the growth of this company by focusing on its people and making sure we have the people programs, benefits & structure and people in the right place to keep us moving forward.
