Kim Smith, LEED AP, Director of Marketing and Communications
What is the most exciting thing about working in this business?
While I have had experience working in the construction industry, my expertise is in marketing and communications. The team at The Crowther Group respects my knowledge and skillset when it comes to the best ways to present our brand in every way. What’s most exciting is that The Crowther Group story is so easy to tell. With an emphasis on building better communities, one partnership at a time, it’s a story worth telling over and over again.
What is your philosophy about giving back to the community?
This company understands that no matter how big you get, if you don’t reach back to help others, you have accomplished nothing. Our team of employees and our leadership are committed to being more than a construction company. We sincerely want to make a difference for the families, neighbors and businesses that make up North Texas, now and in the future. I am proud to be an active part of these efforts.
Name a technology innovation that has made an impact in construction or an area where there are opportunities for innovation.
Marketing has changed dramatically since my career began. With that, digital marketing tools have given me an opportunity to be an innovator and carry-out cutting-edge strategies to boost growth and outperform competitors in every industry I’ve worked in. At The Crowther Group, it’s clear that our digital presence is as important as our physical presence so I use these tools to make sure our image is consistently reflective of who we are and what we do, whatever the platform.
Tell us an awesome fact about yourself or the role you have in the company.
While working at ABC Radio Networks, I was fortunate to have secured the first interview of a U.S. President by a radio personality aboard Air Force One. That was one of many “firsts” achieved during my career. I also conducted the first on-site press tour of a high-security facility to introduce the country’s new secure passport system, as well as host the first incident-free concert event at the former Texas Stadium. Delivering creative solutions like those is what I bring The Crowther Group. It’s fun, exciting and a satisfying experience to watch the company grow and succeed.
